NCAMP Meets with Congressman Shuler

FSA called for a meeting with Heath Shuler, FSA program directors, and Western Carolina farmers in June to discuss the FSA’s response to the drought conditions facing farmers in North Carolina.

Congressman Shuler reassured farmers that he supported their efforts to farm under difficult weather conditions. He pledged to help farmers track and coordinate the delivery of hay from areas that are not impacted by the drought.

FSA Executive Director Keith Weatherly spoke at the meeting. NCAMP representative Bob Holbert thanked Congressman Shuler for his efforts on behalf of North Carolina farmers and informed farmers of the availability of mediation services through NCAMP.
